Brian Jones All alone on a 7" picture sleeve

Ever seen Brian Jones all alone on the cover of a Stones single? If no, read on.

L’Age d’or des Rolling Stones ( “The Golden Era of The Rolling Stones” in English) is a set of 25 singles which was released in France and Belgium in the seventies. On the Continent, this series is well-known because it features a number of songs which were for the first and only time released on a 7” (e.g. ‘Goin’ Home’ from ‘Aftermath’), but especially because of the superb sleeves. Not only are these sleeves in full colour (same illustration both sides) and of cardboard quality, they are also different from most French and Belgian originals. In fact, most pictures were never used for a 7” release, e.g. those from the Rock and Roll Circus sessions!

Brian Jones fans will be particularly interested in vol. 18, because it features a beautiful colour picture (both sides) of Brian Jones only! He is pictured playing the guitar on stage, wearing a beige jacket and a red shirt with white dots.
