SUNDAY 6 MAY & RERUN ON MONDAY 7 MAY 2012
SPECIAL 2: Jan de Lichte door Rudy De Sutter en Hugo Claus
BRAND NEW: Danny Bryant’s Night Life (blues)
DISCOVER R&B and simply B with teen idol Elvis, Beat poet Allen Ginsberg and Sam the Sham & the Pharaohs! With a couple of hits (e.g. “You Still Think”) and a few full albums under his belt, Erwin Nijhoff is a successful singer-songwriter in his own right. This show, however, focuses on his collaboration with Mick Taylor. Nijhoff’s “Love Come Tumbling Down” got Mick Taylor interested in the Dutch composer and the two have performed in the studio and on stage for over a decade now. Together, they wrote “Running Away From You”. Radio 68 spins Nijhoff & Taylor’s live interpretations of The Rolling Stones’ “No expectations”, “Time Waits For No-One” and “Dead Flowers”, plus “Little Red Rooster” – recordings rarely or never aired before! Later in the programme, Nijhoff plays some Elvis, Eddie and Chuck. Nijhoff’s albums are available as Itunes downloads or as regular albums: “Wine of Life”, “In the Eye Of A Stranger” (both via Munich or V2) and “Take your Time” (Warner Music Benelux).
